Resources.
Here are some free and low-cost community resources spanning from crisis hotlines to relaxation apps. I believe that our collective mental health includes community care. Take what you need.
Crisis Hotlines
Safety: If you are in crisis, in imminent harm to yourself, or others, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
PMRT (LA Psychiatric Mobile Response Team): 1-800-854-7771

211
Dial 211 or (800) 339-6993
Call 211 for free information on health and social services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in many languages. 211 LA County is a public service for Los Angeles County residents that connects people in need to services such as emergency food and shelter, childcare, employment assistance, housing assistance and much more.
In an emergency, do not call 211. Instead call 911.
Insight Timer
My hands down favorite relaxation app. Insight Timer has an extensive free version that has over 80,000 free meditations that assist with stress reduction, sleep, relaxation etc. There are free meditations from some amazing BIPOC wellness folks from Alexandra Elle, Dora Kamau, and Lalah Delia. Check it out!
